The beautifully macabre

Continuing the Halloween spirit started with the exhibition of real human bodies, here is another of my Etsy treasuries, this time dedicated to beautifully macabre objects of contemporary art and vintage. Nature may be great, but art is still more soothing, even when macabre or strange.

 

Rudeness in art

I believe art is allowed to be offensive and rude, but only when there are aesthetic and ideological reasons behind. Rudeness for rudeness sake got somehow outdated :)

IDENTITĂŢI TEMPORARE
Expoziţie internaţională / International art exhibition

Vineri, 12 februarie 2010 va avea loc vernisajul expoziţiei internaţionale „Identităţi temporare”, la Maitresse Maison Store (Str. Samuel Micu, nr. 4). Vizitatorii expoziţiei se vor întâlni cu lucrări aparţinând unui grup de cinci artişti plastici: Ana-Maria Călinescu (România - pictură), Nicolae Câmpan (România - pictură şi ceramică), Rolana Ceckauskaite (Lituania - pictură), Ana-Maria Gruia (România - pictură şi tehnică mixtă), Lojze Kalinsek (Slovenia - pictură şi gravură). Grupul s-a format spontan, iar lucrările expuse abordează stiluri diferite. Ora de începere a vernisajului este 18:30. Vă aşteptăm!

Clujul medieval / Medieval Cluj

"Acestea sunt tablourile mele; eu le-am făcut.
Cred că sunt bune.
Tehnica este nouă: linogravură, colaj, acril şi creion pe pânză.
Este vorba despre Clujul medieval, despre oraşul imaginat, cu arhitectura, ritualurile, oamenii şi sfintii săi protectori. Unele titluri sunt în latină pentru că se potrivesc mai bine cu perioada.
Mă puteţi întreba de preţuri. Trei pânze nu sunt de vânzare, căci aparţin deja vărului meu Călin.
