Editia a 9-a sâmbătă, 2 iunie 2012!

Art Fair at Iulius Mall shopping center

NEW edition of the Art Fair, at Iulius Mall shopping center, open 10-12 April 2009!
A group of young artists (and one's grandma) will exhibit and sell their paintings, graphic works and photos. You will also find engravings on hand-made paper, printed after original 18th and 19th century plates. But of course, the main attraction are the artists themselves, so don't be shy and ask all you want about how they create.
The following institutions and young artists, from Romania and abroad, will take part: MNIT (National History Museum of Transylvania), Ana-Maria Gruia, Edmond Kreibik, Radu Fizeşan, Alida Boari, Vera Dan, Bogdan Mihai Radu, Adrian Gorgan, Andrei Varga, Lojze Kalinsek, Rolana Ceckauskaite, and Edita Matulionyte.

Winter bazaar at La mesteceni Country Club

We were invited to take part at this great event organized by a country club near Sebes, Romania. Fighting the weather we went to try our luck, with some paintings and some Dacian hats. We landed in a room crowded with Christmas decorations, music CDs, shoes, clothes, icons, and the above photographed: Dracula with blood dripping from his vampire canines grinning from a porcelain cup with gold trimming, a female nude statuette by the feet of the Crucifix (somehow not religious at all), and ceramic desk mask (?) with butterflies!

And a special treat for Romanian speakers. It is worth reading, I guarantee.

Dacian and Roman art (fair)

Despite the intentional confusion, this was just an art fair with guests from the Dacian and Roman reenactment group, Terra Dacica Aeterna. The organizer of the open air art fair, the apARTe NGO, has secured the small square in front of Mathias Corvinus' birth house for Dacians, Romans, and other artists!
