Este vorba despre Clujul medieval, despre oraşul imaginat, cu arhitectura, ritualurile, oamenii şi sfintii săi protectori. Unele titluri sunt în latină pentru că se potrivesc mai bine cu perioada.
Mă puteţi întreba de preţuri. Trei pânze nu sunt de vânzare, căci aparţin deja vărului meu Călin.

Expo Transilvania, ora 12-20


Asociaţia Terra Dacica Aeterna în parteneriat cu Primăria Cluj-Napoca, Expo Transilvania şi Muzeul Naţional de Istorie a Transilvaniei organizează în 24 octombrie 2009 un eveniment de recreare a atmosferei antice, dacice şi romane. Manifestarea constituie o premieră în cadrul evenimentelor cultural-istorice din judeţul Cluj.


La Expo Transilvania, Terra Dacica Aeterna organizează o serie de prezentări de echipament militar şi civil specific epocilor dacică şi romană, reconstituiri de momente din viaţa religioasă a celor două popoare antice şi simulări de luptă. Evenimentul este interactiv, organizându-se ateliere în care publicul va putea îmbrăca armurile şi costumele antice, va putea gusta din raţia zilnică de hrană a unui soldat roman, se va putea delecta cu jocuri specifice perioadei şi va avea ocazia să îşi demonstreze măiestria în cadrul atelierelor de tir cu arcul şi balista romană (scorpio), aruncare cu suliţa şi lancea (pilum). Doritorii, în special copii, vor putea participa la mini şedinţe de călărie.


Accesul publicului la eveniment este gratuit iar fondurile rezultate din participarea publicului la atelierele organizate şi din achiziţionarea suvenirurilor istorice puse spre vânzare vor fi folosite de Terra Dacica Aeterna pentru achiziţionarea de noi echipamente şi materiale.

Targ de handmade la Sibiu

Bazart is the first handmade fair in Sibiu, held in the yard of the Erasmus book store. There will also be tea, joggling, and free workshops. More than 50 participants from all over Transylvania will show their work. See you in sunny Hermanstadt!

Little new things

Paul Gaugain invented a special type of monotypia, by putting printing ink on a hard surface, placing a sheet of paper on top, and then drawing on the back of the piece of paper. All pressed areas would thus touch the ink and stick on the paper. The result is interesting, though not very precise, as the paper tends to catch color also outside the intended areas. The final work thus requires interventions. I chose to "fix" some of the contours with acrylic paint.

New exhibition at the National History Museum of Transylvania, dedicated to female costumes through the ages, based on archaeological discoveries. The exhibition was initiated by the students of the MA group "Archaeology and Classical Studies" of the Babes-Bolyai University.

International exhibition SEEING YOURSELF. AUTO-VIZIUNE

International contemporary art exhibition "Seeing Yourself" opening in Sighisoara on March 25th. It will be open at Casa cu Cerb until June 2009. It is organized by the Art Academy in Cluj-Napoca, apARTe NGO, Restauro Messerschmit NGO, and the French Cultural Center, on the topic of self portraiture. As for the chosen medium of expression, photography is mainly envisaged by this exhibition.

I wish I had a bike like that! I would then be able to ignore common sense and the special lanes as well :)

Urban fashion for garbage bins

In Cluj-Napoa even the garbage bins are fashionable! This is the autumn collection, that relies on colorful ties and combination of materials, to be worn even in the direst conditions. I even wonder why Milan is considered the center of the fashion industry!

Art Fair at Iulius Mall shopping center

NEW edition of the Art Fair, at Iulius Mall shopping center,  open 10-12 April 2009!
A group of young artists (and one's grandma) will exhibit and sell their paintings, graphic works and photos. You will also find engravings on hand-made paper, printed after original 18th and 19th century plates. But of course, the main attraction are the artists themselves, so don't be shy and ask all you want about how they create.
The following institutions and young artists, from Romania and abroad, will take part: MNIT (National History Museum of Transylvania), Ana-Maria Gruia, Edmond Kreibik, Radu Fizeşan, Alida Boari, Vera Dan, Bogdan Mihai Radu, Adrian Gorgan, Andrei Varga, Lojze Kalinsek, Rolana Ceckauskaite, and Edita Matulionyte.
