Winter miniature

As snow has set in early this year, I felt inspired to create this small series of winter landscapes. They are actual miniatures, measuring no more than 14 x 15 cm framed and with passepartout. The silver frame matches the color palette of the small acrylic on cardboard works. The paintings are ready to hang.
They are available on www.atelieruldeistorie.ro.

Original miniature by Goddess Gruia

I've been renewing, reducing prices and polishing my Etsy Shop in preparation for the holidays season and I have rediscovered one of my personal favorites - a bright miniature inspired by the old town center of Brasov (Kronstadt), a Saxon town in southern Transylvania, in Romania.
Through a mix technique (pencil sketch and acrylic colors) I tried to capture the charming perspective, color, and light of this area, called "The Town Council House" (i.e. the town hall).
Dimensions: 9.5 x 10 cm (3.7 x 3.9 inches).
Feel free to visit GoddessGruia temple aka Etsy Shop HERE
See the listing HERE.
The work can be included among my medieval architecture-inspired acrylic paintings that I have presented before.

Sighisoara and Sibiu

Before turning to printmaking (linocut by preference), I painted and occasionally still do. Here are some of my "classical" small and average-size works, acrylic on cardboard, inspired by trips to the Saxon cities of Transylvania, mostly Sighisoara and Sibiu.

Abstract visitation

This work is part of an experimental series that might be included in some sort of "automatic painting"technique: playing around with shapes, monotypia, and shape-guessing. This one ended up with two characters, a bit larger in the middle - thus the invented title: "Visitation"'. The scene could well be interpreted as one inspired by medieval scenes of pregnant Mary encountering the pregnant St. Elisabeth. You are free to see what you will, the intention was not religious but my labeling was influenced by the medieval studies I have dealt with.
Fell fee to check my website for the entire series, made during an international art camp in Bekescsaba, Hungary, in 2005.
