Bucranium leather wallet

The Proper Leather Studio is working on another project, a new folding handmade leather wallet with bucranium - tooled decorative motif consisting of a buffalo's skull,a motif of ancient Roman inspiration. The intended special effect is to be achieved through a Leather Sheen (three times over), dying the background by hand in a mix color (very dark violet brown) and then applying over the entire surface orange Gel Antique (saddle tan). This lazure/patina effect on nuances of orange/yellow/brown renders the organic color of the animal skull. Soon on Etsy!

Handmade oxidized silver jewelry

For me, the very definition of jewelry includes elements made of silver with strong patina. Thus my most recent Etsy treasury, and in my opinion the best I've made so far, reunites jewelry pieces design d'autore, handmade, with oxidized silver. The idea was to show examples of possible gifts for Mother's Day, but the artifacts go beyond the mentioned occasion to be universals.

 

Sculpture detail

This is a detail of my favorite sculpture from Budapest, near Keleti train station, where I had to waste a lot of time during the MA and PhD studies there. Even better than the classicist perfect modelling, I feel in admiration with the color and irregularities of bronze patina. Time is the best artist there is!
